Best Body Protector For Children Attending Pony Club
Making sure your child has the appropriate safety equipment is really important when attending pony club events and training. There are rules and pony club regulations in place to ensure that all participants are protected to the highest standards.
What are the safety regulations for Pony Club?
To make sure children are safe while riding, the Pony Club requires all riders to wear a body protector for cross country riding and pony racing, whether that is in training or competition. These body protectors must be of BETA level 3 standard and have the 2018 blue label. The 2009 purple label is not acceptable and does not fit the current safety criteria.
All of our Racesafe models meet this criteria. Just take a look at our pony club collection.
What is the best body protector for Children?
The best children's body protectors provide the highest level of protection without being restrictive. They must be comfortable and fit correctly as well as not being too heavy for young riders.
If you're wondering what size body protector your child needs, watch our video on how to measure them, before using our size guide on our Motion3 page for a recommendation.
How long do body protectors last?
BETA recommend that body protectors are replaced every three to five years. After time, the foam and materials used in your body protector can degrade so the intended level of protection can no longer be guaranteed. If your child has a fall and there appears to be damage to the garment, including dents, it may be time to consider replacing. If you're unsure, take a look at our guide on five signs it's time to replace a body protector.
