IJF Subsidy Support: Upgrade to the Latest Racesafe Body Protectors.
The Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF) has supported jockeys for over 60 years, providing vital care, rehabilitation, and financial assistance to those injured in the line of duty. In their latest initiative to improve rider safety, the IJF is now offering subsidies to help jockeys upgrade to the newest Racesafe body protectors—at a crucial time for professional and amateur riders alike.

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has updated its regulations requiring all jockeys to wear body protectors that comply with the EN13158:2018 safety standard. This means that older models are no longer permitted in races, and all riders must switch to a compliant body protector to meet these safety requirements.

The IJF is also supporting GB amateur and point-to-point jockeys with a 50% subsidy (up to £130) towards the cost of one RaceMotion2 or RaceMotion3 body protector—again, helping riders meet the updated BHA safety standards without bearing the full cost alone.
